- Provides functional assistance to the other Banqueting employees.
- Interacts with guests.
- Communication with employees working in the kitchen, restaurant, banqueting and stewarding departments
- Interacts with other Banqueting employees to ensure smooth-running of the Banqueting depart¬ment.
- Coordinates staff allocation in cooperation with the Banquet Headwaiter.
- Maintains the highest professional grooming standards.
- Participates in service.

- Ensures hotel grooming and appearance standards are met.
- When required, works in other departments and is flexible towards working hours.
- Ensures that all equipment is functional and properly maintained.
- Implements and maintains the standard of service as laid down by the Amstel Hotel.
- Maintains good customer relations, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction at all times.
- Takes orders, serves all Food and Beverage according to service standards.
- Ensures guest cheque charges are complete and correct prior to presenting it to the guest.
- Ensures that all service cupboards are well stocked and tidy.
- Handles and reports all complaints, compliments and comments.
- To ensure that designated uniforms are worn well pressed and in a good state of repair and to ensure that name badges are worn at all times.
- To have a good knowledge of all hotel facilities and be able to answer guest questions in a quick, polite and helpful manner.
- To handle any guest complaints or problems promptly and to ensure that all resolved/unresolved incidents are reported to your Outlet Manager.
- To demonstrate a working knowledge of fire prevention and to ensure that staff follow the hotel evacuation procedures on hearing the alarm.
- To be security conscious with respect to guest, staff and hotel property/welfare and to report suspicious circumstances to your Outlet Manager.
- To communicate positively with staff, colleagues and your Manager to ensure effective teamwork and high morale.
- To attend meetings and training sessions/courses that may be beneficial to you and your department.
