What are your job responsibilities as Front Desk Agent?

• Executes given sales strategies to maximize occupancy and rooms revenue, and will sell all hotel facilities.
• Ensures that all guests receive a warm and courteous welcome upon check-in and check-out, uses guest name as often as possible.
• Ensuring the guest is assigned to the type of room requested in accordance with the rate.
• Works according to hotel standards and according to schedule, inclusive of night shifts.
• Attends to guest enquiries, request or complaints in an efficient and courteous manner, referring to management whenever necessary. Provides accurate information to guest’s enquiries related to hotel facilities.
• Rooms guests efficiently and courteously.
• Informs the Guest Relations Manager, Front Office Manager or Assistant Front Office Manager of all VIP arrivals.
• Checks, and modifies where necessary, billing instructions and registration details to ensure clarity, completeness and legal requirements.
• Has full knowledge of the contents of the hotel's credit policy and ensures it is strictly observed where it relates to front office.
• Handles cash transactions (including foreign exchange) accurately according to hotel standards and maintain integrity of personal float.
• Checks accuracy and completeness of guest bills on check-out.
• Opens and closes security boxes according to hotel standards.
• Sets up and maintains correct guest billing.
• Contacts departing guests (except SCC and Amex FHR) if not checked out and verify departing date and time, all in a courteous, friendly way.
• Answers the telephone in a polite manner and takes bookings when required. Handles reservations correctly, with all relevant details.
• Responsible for checking trace reports during the early and evening shifts.
• Checks 'mise en place' and requisitions departmental supplies.
• Attends front office meetings.
• Will help concierge desk in busy periods to take coats from arriving guests.

What do you bring?
  • Fluently speaking and writing of the Dutch language is mandatory. 
  • Preferably 1 year working experience in a high end luxury hotel
  • Motivation and flexibility
  • Multi-tasking skills
  • Perfect knowledge of the English language in both writing and spoken. A third language is highly appreciated.
  • OPERA PMS system knowledge
