For the Kimpton De Witt Amsterdam we are looking for a Night Manager.
WHAT WILL YOU ACTUALLY BE DOING?
You’re passionate, focused and driven about making every guest’s experience ‘ridiculously personal’, making their stay unforgettable in all the right ways.

You’ll be working with a friendly, motivated team who you will lead with your distinctive style and work with them to develop their full potential and ensure everyone provides genuine heartfelt care to our guests.
Regarding the role, it’s as the job title says really, you are responsible for our guests during the night. You’ll be out in the front of the house, leading from the front. There’s a lot that needs to be done during the night, so you will be kept on your toes. But you are a ‘night owl’ so this will be straight forward for you.
You will need to use your great communication skills and build strong relationships with the other teams to ensure our guests stay is seamless and effortless.
It’s a physical role and although there are the usual briefings and reports to run, you will be on your feet during the night out and about in the hotel making sure everyone is safe and has everything they need, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. You will need to speak Dutch for this specific role, and looking at your next move we would love it if you were multi-lingual, but it’s not essential just yet.
HOW DO YOU WOW YOUR GUESTS?
As a key manager within the hotel you are responsible for knowing your guests and their preferences. You need to ensure you and your team provide the ‘wow’ factor to all of them during their stay with us. You need to ensure they receive a heartfelt welcome and make sure everything is just right and exceeds their expectations. You need to work with your teams to bring that personal touch to their stay.
The hotel’s a 24 hour business and our guests must receive the same level of service whatever time it is. We know you won’t have as many colleagues working during the night, but when you pull together you will make sure you exceed our guests’ expectations.
You will interact with guests throughout the night, making sure they have everything they need. We all do it, we forget things when we pack or leave things behind, so you and your team will be on hand to step in and help.
You’ll make sure the hotel is in pristine condition. Your team will help them into the hotel, check them in, check them out, make sure their bill is accurate and all done with that special personal touch.
Yes, we have standards and procedures that everyone in the team has to follow, but it’s down to you to make their stay special and memorable.

You need to foster a positive work environment for your whole team and ensure they display their personalities and creativity, whilst adhering to the standards.

HOW DO YOU DRIVE FINANCIAL RETURNS FOR OUR OWNERS?
Our owners invest and trust in us and we keep them happy by providing positive returns on their investment and reputations.
You will maximize the financial performance of the hotel by providing the highest possible quality of guest service through your team providing an efficient and friendly experience. Also by working closely with the Front Office team so that at any time you know who’s staying and to make sure you have a clear handover process in place.
You need to truly know your guests, their names, their preferences, their individual needs, their business needs, everything about them.
You need to ensure everything in your area is in working order by protecting and enhancing the value of all hotel assets through appropriate programs in maintenance and security.
You need to have an understanding of where all the money comes from in your hotel and where it is spent. You will work with your Finance colleagues to understand the accounts and your Front Office teams to provide a seamless check-in and out.
You need to continually review what’s working and what’s not working within your area and drive improvements and make changes as and when they are needed.
You also need to be known and seen within the local community and local industries to promote the hotel and drive business.
Bring your creativity into your role by sharing any ideas that you have to make things even better.
And finally the safety of all guests and employees is also down to you, so make sure you and your team are totally on top of your policies and procedures, particularly safety, security and emergency procedures.

We expect that you have experience as a Night Auditor or Night Manager or other relevant work experience in a similar work environment and that you naturally go out of your way to make the unexpected happen.
