Join us as a Reservations Agent at the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam. You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receiving, processing, cancelling, amending and confirming guests room reservations.
  • Ensures all necessary information is recorded and answered when processing, cancelling, amending or confirming reservations.
  • Ensures all information is correctly entered into the computer, prior to the guest’s arrival, particularly with regard to blocking rooms, VIP's, special requests etc.
  • Periodically inspects correspondence/computer to ensure any additional details or changes for current/future guest bookings have been noted to avoid duplicate bookings or incorrect information being entered into the computer.
  • Ensures all correspondence is filed away in date order.
  • Ensures IHG Rewards Club members, regular guests receive priority when making bookings, particularly during peak periods.
  • Decides when necessary (with the Front Office Manager) adjustments to be made in all applicable channels concerning availability. Keeps in close contact with other reservation centres amending their availability chart.
  • Prints daily and as often as necessary a Rooms Availability Report.
  • Liaisons closely with Banqueting and Sales and assists both departments when necessary. (I.e. changing rooms, meeting rooms etc)
  • Ensures all correspondence for the present/following day has been correctly entered into the computer and is at hand.
  • Checks carefully following day’s arrivals and VIP list against correspondence. Makes necessary adjustments.
  • Coordinates with Accounts Receivable Clerk with regard to billing instructions when billing is to company.
  • Makes sure that the guests receive a speedy reply to their needs in all forms of communication.
  • Attends and contributes to all Sales and Front-Office meetings.
  • Makes full use of computer facilities within the hotel, and ensures regular up-dates are made.

  • Professional proficiency of English, Dutch and preferably a third foreign language
  • Analytical mindset
  • Proactive and hands-on mentality
  • Professional knowledge of Opera is a pre
