For the Kimpton De Witt Hotel we are looking for a Revenue manager!

Of course, there are some general tasks which are part of the job. However, as this is a new role within the organisation there will be room for you, together with the Director of Revenue and Reservations, to explore and be creative in finding new ways of working.

WHAT WILL YOU ACTUALLY BE DOING?

You've proven you are analytical, a risk taker and have a track record of creative thinking. You can succeed in a fast-paced, guest-focused, no two days the same environment and we will offer you plenty of opportunities to find your niche and grow. You are financially aware and have great strengths in planning and strategy, which are key to selling our rooms.

Regarding the role, it’s as the job title says really, you are in the hot seat together with the Cluster Director of Revenue & Reservations managing the revenue, making sure we are priced competitively in all the right markets, at the right time, to the right people.

You maximise revenue for Rooms and R&B reservations by monitoring and assessing of (cancellations) entries in the systems on occupancy, price and reason for cancellation. You will analyse these data, market information, distribution channels and if necessary, intervene by block bookings and prices, or overbooking of rooms, whilst also being aware of the short and long term marketing promotions. You take care of daily reports and ensure that the various systems have timely, complete and reliable information. Moreover, you respond to telephone inquiries and perform other activities as requested by Management.

As a key manager within the hotel you are responsible for knowing your markets and all our guests. You need to ensure you and your team provide the ‘wow’ factor to all of them when they enter the hotel by providing great value for money.  You’re part of all hotel teams so you all need to ensure they receive a heartfelt welcome and that everything is just right and exceeds their expectations. You need to work across the hotel teams to bring that personal touch to their stay and make it special and memorable

HOW DO YOU SHOW YOU GENUINELY CARE ABOUT YOUR COLLEAGUES?

Success comes from teamwork so you need to ensure you have the best team. You and your team will be analytical, creative thinkers, have great personalities, show their individuality and creativity. You need to foster a positive work environment for your team and ensure they display their personalities and creativity, whilst adhering to the standards.

You will need to use your great communication skills and build strong relationships with everyone so that they understand what we are selling and why it’s priced as it is. This is the rocket science of the hospitality industry and you need to translate it in a way that everyone in the hotel understands.

HOW DO YOU DRIVE FINANCIAL RETURNS FOR OUR OWNERS?

Our owners invest and trust in us and we keep them happy by providing positive returns on their investment and reputations.

You will maximize the financial performance of the hotels though an aggressive strategy that is right for the business environment and guests. There will be targets you own and drive through supported activities and analytics and this is where your skills in reading the markets and your creativity will truly shine.

You’re in a department that bridges all parts of the hotels, the hotel operations and the R&B areas, so you’ll use your great communication skills to ensure everything all runs smoothly. You will work closely with your Sales colleagues so they know what to sell, to who, at what time.

You need to truly know your guests, their names, their preferences, their individual needs, their business needs, everything about them. You know your markets inside and out, tracking everything that’s sold by our competitors and on-line sellers, to ensure you price us exactly right through the peaks and troughs. When you spot these opportunities you will act with speed to get a new strategy out in the market to capture the business.

You also need to be known and seen within the local community and local industries to promote the hotels and drive business through innovative promotions.

You need to continually review what’s working and what’s not working within your area and drive improvements and make changes as and when they are needed.

You are part of our team because we saw that you had creativity, so you need to bring this into your role, and encourage your team to do the same, by sharing any ideas that you have to keep driving for excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

College or Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management. Minimum of 1 year experience in a reservations department, Front Office or other related discipline, in a supervisory role. Experience with Opera and IHG systems is an advantage. It is your passion to create unique and personalized experiences, you can set priorities and you have excellent communicative skills. Speaks and writes fluent English, another language is always a plus. Previous experience in Revenue Management is preferred.

This is a biggie for us at Kimpton, we are a big part of the community and we need to ensure we support it.  You need to ensure you follow the processes for chemicals and personal protective equipment in your role, but we also expect you to get involved and get out and about with the neighbours as part of our community projects.
