We have a fantastic opportunity for a Sales Executive to join the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam. This is an exciting time to join and work alongside the Director of Sales, to deliver our key growth sales strategies, and drive revenue within the hotel.
 
As our Sales Executive, you will have a wide range of duties including:                                                         
- Reports directly to Director of Sales.
- Interacts with other personnel within the department, hotel and other InterContinental hotels within the region.
- Maintains a high profile within trade and professional associations within the area.
- Implements all Sales action plans related te the area as outlined in the revenue plan.
- Establishes and maintains files on major active accounts within an assigned geographic area.
- Actively solicits new business for the hotel.
- Provides market intelligence and feedback to Director of Sales as result of face to face calls and telephone solicitation.
- Makes between 20-25 face-to-face sales calls per week, 10 days a month in respecti­ve markets.
- Completes a weekly activity report to be handed to Sales Coordinator Prior to the Sales & marketing meeting.
- Works towards set room night goals.
- Participate in any trade shows and showcases where the hotel wants to be present.
- Organize 1 client events per year
- Organize 2 sponsor events for potential clients.
- Issue Travel Expense report after each trip and before each end of month.
- Follow Travel Expense guidelines. 

What we need from you: 
- Have a proven track record and working knowledge of the groups market, having previously executed sales calls within this territory
- Have a distinctive blend of confidence and personality to help give both our clients and guests an unforgettable experience
- Make intuitive decisions in favor of the guest and maintain the highest standards of service
- Articulate, confident and polished
- Good negotiator, and possess the ability to successfully close business through your determination to succeed
- Good attention to detail and planning abilities
- You will have fantastic people skills and inspire others to perform
- Excellent command of spoken and written English along with demonstrable ability to communicate and influence credibly 

Qualifications: 
- Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Marketing or related field.
- Two to four years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Speaks and writes fluent Dutch and English and preferably another language.
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Virtuose, Signature and FH&R is a plus
- Familiar with Luxury Networks and maintains a high profile within trade and professional associations dealing with his/her sales area.
- Main sales focus will be on the United States.
