Algemene informatie

Purpose:
 
Oversees and directs all aspects of the hotel's commercial operation, including direct sales, sales sollicitation, sales administration, conference & banqueting, marketing, public relations, revenue management & reservations.
 
Relationships:
 
1.         Reports directly to the General Manager.
2.         Supervises Sales team leader, Banquet Sales team leader, Revenue/Reservations team leader, Marketing team leader, trainees and external partners on PR and Marketing.
 
Duties and responsibilities:
 
1.         In conjunction with the Revenue Manager and the executive committee produces the annual Revenue Plan, Sales and Marketing budgets and forecasts.
2.         Processes, implements and monitors action plans to ensure Revenue Plan objectives are achieved.
3.         Analyses current and potential markets/trends, coordinates all activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rate.
4.         Procures new and repeat business for the hotel by monitoring contact with airlines, travel agencies, commercial houses, private clubs and professional marketing associations within local, domestic and international markets. Maintain contact with planners, corporate accounts, incentive buyers, airlines and wholesalers, trough personal sales calls, telephone contacts and written communications. Both for business and/or corporate as well as private bookings in rooms, venues and all other facilities of the hotel.
5. Creates, implements and coaches on special programmes to achieve greater productivity through:
I           Increasing average rate
II          Increasing occupancy
III         Increasing business volume during difficult periods
IV        Increasing Food & Beverage banqueting sales
V         Increasing Food & Beverage sales
6.         Ensures the hotel is represented as an active member of the local community through association membership and networking.
7.         Coordinates sales and promotes business for other IHG hotels within the region. Interacts with worldwide regional sales offices with particular attention to local office.
8.         Plans and executes sales trips to major market areas.
9.         Attends major travel functions to promote Sales for the hotel.
10.       Directs all sales activities for Sales Managers to ensure they meet the goals of the Revenue Plan.
11.       Ensures training needs analysis of sales staff is carried out and training pro­grammes are designed and implemented to meet needs.
12.       Conducts weekly reviews of sales personnel activity to ensure targets and sales objectives are being met.
13.       Carries out personnel related duties to include but not limited to: intervie­wing, induction, appraising, coaching, counselling, and where necessary, discipli­ning to ensure staffing and productivity as appropriate.
14.       Produces monthly Sales reports and forecasts.
15.       Meets with guests from major and strategic producers/organisers of big events staying in the hotel to ensure customer satisfaction.
16.       Establishes and continuously updates mailing lists.
17.       Organises and attends sales/PR related functions within the hotel.
18.       Carries out any reasonable request made by management.
19.       Responsible for the banquet sales and promotion of banquet sales.
20.       Coordinates all relevant banquet and F&B matters with F&B and/or Banquet Manager.
21.       Ensures the banquet sales administration is up to date and according to the latest standard at all times.
22.       Establishes active and continuous focus on mss, bcrd and heartbeat scores
23.       Responsible for marketing and pr relations with external partners
24.       Has a good working relationship with all management committee members and responsible f&b heads of departments
25.       Responsible (through Revenue Manager) for the reservations department.
26.       All the above in accordance with IHG policies and procedures
 
General duties:

- Performs related duties as assigned by the management.
- Is fully knowledgeable with the hotel's FLS and security procedures.
- Make sure that his/her working area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Responsible for reporting immediately to the General Manager or deputy anything which is to be considered a health and safety hazard.
- Maintains appropriate standards of dress, hygiene, uniforms, appearance, posture and conduct.
