POSITION SUMMARY
 
For the corporate visitor in particular, you will be the face of Eden hotels Amsterdam. You specialise in cold and lukewarm acquisitions; you carry out local (market) research, fix appointments for tours, draw up price agreements and seek new business. Highly organised, you always enter all your appointments in our CRM (Customer relationship management software) and share your insights with the right people within the team. You continuously build on your relationship with customers, visit them regularly and attend networking events. You will be part of the overall sales team of Eden Hotels Amsterdam.  You attend hotel meetings, where you inform your colleagues about your work and are directly accountable to the General Manager.
 
The Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American is the very first of its kind in the Netherlands. It is located on the Leidseplein, in one of the most famous art nouveau buildings in Amsterdam. With 173 rooms and suites, a totally renovated interior and distinctive Hard Rock facilities such as a Body Rock® fitness centre, Rock Shop® and musical entertainment via The Sound of Your Stay® programme, guests are assured of an unbeatable 5-star experience. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the iconic Art Deco restaurant Café Americain; a modern brasserie that writes new history with both ‘class’ and ‘classics’. From early morning till late at night.
 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Write and negotiate sales and marketing contracts according to company procedures.
  • Assembling of the Hotel Event Calendar and Brand Calendar
  • Reporting of weekly Occupancy Reporting Programs by working with a local hotel Concierge.
  • Communication and follow up with Group Travel Planners and marketing partners.
  • Administration of package programs.
  • Ensure receipt of payment from client by following Company procedures.
  • Maintenance of sales and marketing tools and equipment (banners, linens, skirting etc.).
  • Updating of hotel website using the Vizergy platform.
  • Partnering with Sales & Marketing Manager in the prospecting calls to Corporate accounts, convention/meeting organizers and previous bookings.
  • Assist in execution and attend buyouts, functions and designated parties to provide support, ensure guest satisfaction, and promote future business.
  • Attend trade-shows as approved by hotel budget and the Sales and Marketing Manager/General Manager.
  • Liaise between Support Center Sales & Marketing and the hotel.
  • Work with SM, GM and KM to ensure that contract/menu is executable.
  • Attend meetings with S&M Manager as requested to communicate events/functions to management team and/or staff.
  • Coordinate operations between departments.
  • Attend client functions marketing events and designated parties to provide support and representation of the department
  • Know, understand and practice (with energy and enthusiasm) the missions, values, mottos, culture and spirit that make Hard Rock unique
  • Work as a team, helping all departments to complete the required activities or projects that ensure we achieve successful events or outcomes reflecting the brand.

REQUIREMENTS
 
Experience, Education and Certifications
  • You preferably have about 2-3 years of commercial experience 
SKILLS
  • You have strong negotiating skills, persuasiveness and assertiveness.
  • You are known to always take the initiative, and to have the courage to take responsibility
  • You can work well independently, but are also a good team player.
  • You work precisely and meticulously
  • You are a real networker and know how to tackle things; a passionate enthusiast with a thorough knowledge of how to develop the corporate market.
  • You are result-oriented and communicate openly and directly with your colleagues and with your external business contacts.
  • You preferably have about 2-3 years of commercial experience
  • It would be preferable for you to have some experience with the relevant systems (e.g. LinkedIN Navigator, the Office package, Perfect View, IDPMS by Amadeus, Opera, Lanyon)
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English. Do you also know (a little) French, German or Spanish? We would consider that a huge advantage!
  • You live in or around Amsterdam and are a true ambassador of the city 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to move throughout the business (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to regularly move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds / 25 kilograms.
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment. 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • You are willing to work on weekends
  • Passion for music and knowledge of music trends preferred.
